About Nanjing
Nanjing, referred to as "Ning", is the capital of Jiangsu Province, a sub-provincial city, the core city of the Nanjing metropolitan area, an important scientific research and education base, and a comprehensive transportation hub. The city has 11 districts with a total area of 6587km2, a permanent population of 8.335 million people and a urban population of 6.589 million people. It is a mega city in the Yangtze River Delta.
Nanjing is located in the eastern part of China, the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and is an important node city at the strategic intersection of the eastern coastal economic belt and the Yangtze River economic belt.
Nanjing is China's four ancient capitals and the first batch of national historical and cultural cities. It is also an important birthplace of Chinese civilization. It has long been the political, economic, and cultural center of southern China. It has a history of building capital for nearly 500 years and is known as "the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties".
